Bloom Sparkling Energy Review Canada (2026): Flavours, Caffeine, and Is It Worth It?
By Bulldog Nutrition Editorial Team | Updated: October 2026
Quick Answer
Bloom Sparkling Energy is a lightly carbonated, zero-sugar energy drink from Bloom Nutrition, the US greens brand founded in 2019. The can sold in Canada lists 140 mg of caffeine from green coffee bean extract, 1,000 mg of taurine, L-theanine, Asian ginseng, apple cider vinegar and 1 g of prebiotic fibre in a 10-calorie 355 mL can. It reached Canada in April 2026 through Keurig Dr Pepper Canada in four flavours plus a Variety 12-pack. It's worth it if you want a lighter can for everyday use rather than a training stimulant. Bulldog Nutrition is an authorized Canadian and US retailer of Bloom, with nationwide shipping.
Most people searching "Bloom energy drink Canada" have three questions: is it actually sold here, how much caffeine is in it compared with the American can all over TikTok, and is it a wellness drink or just another energy drink in a pastel can? The answers are yes, less than you think, and somewhere in between.
Every amount below comes from the bilingual Supplemented Food Facts panel on the cans we stock, as shown on our Bloom listing; where the panel doesn't print an amount, we write "not published" rather than guess. Brand facts come from bloomnu.com and Keurig Dr Pepper Canada. For the whole category, see our guide to the best energy drinks in Canada; this article covers one product in depth.

What Is Bloom Sparkling Energy, and Who Makes It?
Bloom Nutrition was founded in 2019 by Mari Llewellyn and Greg LaVecchia, is based in Austin, Texas, and built its name on a greens powder marketed mainly to women. In 2024 Nutrabolt took an approximately 20 percent stake; the founders remain majority shareholders.
Sparkling Energy is the brand's move from powder into cans; it launched in the United States in 2024 as a Target exclusive. In Canada, Keurig Dr Pepper Canada announced on April 2, 2026 an exclusive agreement with Nutrabolt Distribution LLC to distribute Bloom Sparkling Energy, with a rollout from mid-April through 7-Eleven, Couche-Tard banners and Amazon Canada. Cans sold here carry a bilingual Supplemented Food Facts panel.

What's in a Can of Bloom Sparkling Energy?
Here's the Supplemented Food Facts panel for one 355 mL can, as printed on the label sold in Canada.
| Ingredient | Amount per can (as labelled) | What it's there for |
|---|---|---|
| Caffeine (from green coffee bean extract) | 140 mg | Energy, alertness and attention |
| Taurine | 1,000 mg | Standard energy-drink amino acid |
| Prebiotic fibre (Sunfiber® partially hydrolyzed guar gum) | 1 g | Soluble fibre; Bloom's gut-health angle |
| L-theanine | Not published | Paired with caffeine for calmer alertness |
| Asian ginseng (Panax ginseng) root extract | Not published | Botanical Bloom includes for energy support |
| Apple cider vinegar | Not published | Bloom's signature wellness ingredient |
| Niacin (B3) | 8 mg | Energy metabolism |
| Vitamin B6 | 1.7 mg | Energy metabolism |
| Vitamin B12 | 2.4 mcg | Energy metabolism |
| Calories | 10 | Fits calorie-tracked plans |
| Sugar | 0 g (2 g carbohydrate, 1 g of it fibre) | Sweetened with sucralose; no artificial colours |
Reading the label. Bloom prints the three numbers most buyers care about: caffeine, taurine and fibre. It publishes less detail on L-theanine, ginseng and apple cider vinegar, which are listed without amounts. And if you've seen US reviews, note that the US can lists 180 mg of caffeine, a different prebiotic (xylooligosaccharides) and lychee and green tea extracts; the can sold in Canada lists 140 mg and Sunfiber guar gum, with no lychee or green tea. Same name on both sides of the border, different panel. Always read the can in your hand.
How Much Caffeine Is in Bloom, and Is 140 mg a Lot?
140 mg per 355 mL can. Among the fitness energy drinks sold in Canada, that puts Bloom above BUM Energy's 112 mg and below TC Nutrition Batch 27's 180 mg: strong-coffee territory rather than pre-workout territory. The green coffee bean source supplies the same caffeine molecule as espresso; it isn't gentler per milligram, Bloom simply has less of it than a 200 mg can.
Health Canada's guidance for healthy adults is a maximum of 400 mg of caffeine a day from all sources, 300 mg for women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning to become pregnant, and 2.5 mg per kg of body weight for children and adolescents. The label limits you to one can per day and says not to drink Bloom on the same day as taurine or other supplements containing the same supplemented ingredients.
Do the Other Ingredients Actually Do Anything?
Caffeine carries the can. The International Society of Sports Nutrition's position stand concludes that caffeine improves attention and vigilance in most people and improves exercise performance at 3 to 6 mg per kg of body mass, with a minimal effective dose that may be as low as 2 mg per kg. For a 70 kg adult that lower bound is 140 mg, exactly one can, so Bloom sits at the threshold of a performance effect rather than in the middle of the proven range.
L-theanine is the ingredient behind the "smooth" reputation, and the pairing has real evidence: in a placebo-controlled crossover trial, 250 mg of L-theanine with 150 mg of caffeine produced faster reaction times, better attention accuracy and lower ratings of headache and tiredness than caffeine alone. Bloom doesn't publish its L-theanine amount, so we can't say whether a can matches that study; treat the calm-focus feel as plausible, not demonstrated.
Taurine at 1,000 mg is the category standard and the amount GHOST Energy uses. The 1 g of prebiotic fibre is genuine soluble fibre but small next to a day's intake. Apple cider vinegar and ginseng are present without published amounts as part of Bloom's wellness positioning, and the B vitamins support normal energy metabolism rather than adding stimulant effect.
What Flavours Does Bloom Come In, in Canada?
Keurig Dr Pepper Canada launched five flavours here: Raspberry Lemon, Juicy Orange, Peach Mango, Strawberry Watermelon and Crisp Apple. Bulldog Nutrition stocks four by the 12-can case, Peach Mango, Juicy Orange, Crisp Apple and Raspberry Lemon, plus a Variety 12-pack that mixes the lineup.
All four are lightly carbonated and fruit-forward, closer to a flavoured sparkling water than a candy-style energy drink. Stock moves by flavour on a new launch, so the Bloom collection page is the accurate picture of what's available today.
How Does Bloom Compare With Other Energy Drinks in Canada?
Here is Bloom beside three of the most-searched zero-sugar cans Bulldog stocks, on the facts each Canadian listing publishes.
| Bloom Sparkling Energy | GHOST Energy | BUM Energy | Alani Nu Energy | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Can size | 355 mL | 473 mL | 355 mL | 355 mL |
| Caffeine per can | 140 mg (green coffee bean extract) | Natural, from coffee beans; amount not published on our listing, see label | 112 mg | See label |
| Calories | 10 | Low; see label | Low; see label | 10 |
| Sugar | 0 g | 0 g | 0 g | 0 g |
| Notable ingredients | Taurine 1,000 mg, L-theanine, ginseng, apple cider vinegar, 1 g prebiotic fibre | Taurine 1,000 mg, Acetyl-L-Carnitine 1,000 mg, Alpha-GPC 150 mg, NeuroFactor™ 100 mg, AstraGin® 25 mg | Cognizin® citicoline 250 mg focus blend | Minimal label; no artificial colours |
| Flavour style | Light fruit, lightly carbonated | Licensed candy and soda collaborations | Nostalgic soda profiles | Light, tropical and fruit-forward |
All four are legitimate zero-sugar cans; they differ in emphasis, not in quality:
- Pick Bloom if you want a moderate 140 mg can with a short, fruit-forward label, for mornings, study and work rather than training.
- Pick GHOST Energy if you want the biggest can, a fully itemized nootropic layer and the deepest licensed-flavour lineup in Canada. Our GHOST Energy review goes ingredient by ingredient.
- Pick BUM Energy if you want the lightest caffeine load for all-day use, a citicoline focus ingredient and soda-style flavours. See our BUM Energy review.
- Pick Alani Nu if you want the most minimal label and the lightest-tasting can in the same 355 mL, 10-calorie format. Our Alani Nu Energy review covers the flavours.
Can You Drink Bloom Before a Workout?
You can, but an energy drink is not a pre-workout. A pre-workout carries 200 mg or more of caffeine plus citrulline and beta-alanine at gram doses a carbonated can isn't built to hold. Bloom offers 140 mg of caffeine and some L-theanine 20 to 30 minutes before you train: enough for a lighter session or a day when a full pre-workout would be too much.
Use Bloom instead of your pre-workout that day, never on top of it; the label says not to combine it with products containing the same supplemented ingredients. If you train hard and want a genuine performance stimulus, buy a pre-workout and keep Bloom for the desk.
Who Is Bloom For, and Who Should Skip It?
Bloom fits you if stronger cans leave you jittery, you track calories or train fasted and want a 10-calorie, zero-sugar option, you prefer fruit flavours over candy flavours, or you already use Bloom's greens and want the same brand in a can.
Skip it, or talk to a health care practitioner first, if you're caffeine-sensitive, pregnant or breastfeeding, have a heart or blood-pressure condition, or take medication affected by stimulants. The label's caution names anyone under 14; Health Canada's guidance for adolescents is a body-weight limit, and we'd keep Bloom to adults.
Is Bloom Sparkling Energy Available in Canada?
Yes. Bloom Sparkling Energy has been sold in Canada since mid-April 2026 through 7-Eleven, Couche-Tard banners and Amazon Canada. Bulldog Nutrition is an authorized Canadian and US retailer of Bloom and sells Sparkling Energy in 12-can cases, in each of the four flavours or the Variety 12-pack, sourced through authorized distribution and shipped across Canada and the United States.
⚠️ Bloom Sparkling Energy contains 140 mg of caffeine per can. Not recommended for children, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or individuals sensitive to caffeine; do not combine with other caffeine sources. Always read the full label before use. These statements have not been evaluated by Health Canada or the FDA for disease treatment or prevention.
FAQ
How much caffeine is in Bloom Sparkling Energy?
The can sold in Canada lists 140 mg per 355 mL can, from green coffee bean extract; the US can lists 180 mg. The label limits you to one can per day, and Health Canada's guidance for healthy adults is a maximum of 400 mg a day from all sources.
Is Bloom energy drink available in Canada?
Yes. Keurig Dr Pepper Canada launched it nationally in April 2026 under an exclusive distribution agreement with Nutrabolt, in 355 mL cans with a bilingual Supplemented Food Facts panel. Bulldog Nutrition is an authorized Canadian and US retailer and ships 12-can cases nationwide.
Is Bloom a healthy energy drink?
It's a zero-sugar, 10-calorie caffeinated drink with no artificial colours, 1 g of fibre and a moderate 140 mg of caffeine, a lighter choice than a sugar-sweetened can. It is still an energy drink, not a health product. Treat it like a cup of coffee: fine for most healthy adults in moderation.
Can I drink Bloom before a workout?
Yes, for a lighter session. 140 mg of caffeine is at the low end of the range the ISSN associates with a performance effect, and Bloom has no pump or endurance ingredients. Use it in place of your pre-workout that day, not alongside it.
What flavours does Bloom Sparkling Energy come in?
Keurig Dr Pepper launched five in Canada: Raspberry Lemon, Juicy Orange, Peach Mango, Strawberry Watermelon and Crisp Apple. Bulldog Nutrition stocks Peach Mango, Juicy Orange, Crisp Apple and Raspberry Lemon in 12-can cases, plus a Variety 12-pack.
Is Bloom Sparkling Energy the same as the Bloom greens powder?
No. The greens powder is a caffeine-free daily fruit, vegetable and probiotic drink; Sparkling Energy is a caffeinated can that borrows two of its signature ingredients, apple cider vinegar and prebiotic fibre, in small amounts. It isn't a substitute for the greens.
Final Thoughts
Bloom Sparkling Energy is a moderate-caffeine can with a transparent core: 140 mg of caffeine, 1,000 mg of taurine, 1 g of fibre, 10 calories and no sugar, with L-theanine for a calmer edge. It's built for the desk, the drive and the lighter training day. If you want more stimulant or a bigger flavour personality, GHOST, Batch 27 or Gorilla Mind are better matched; if you want less, BUM is lighter still. Bloom's place is the sensible middle, and in Canada it is now easy to buy. Shop it at Bulldog Nutrition, an authorized Canadian and US retailer of Bloom with fast shipping across Canada and the United States.
